Chen Yufei 2.0: Overcoming Past Weaknesses and Advancing to French Open Final

Chen Yufei, after announcing her transformation into ‘Chen Yufei 2.0’ post-Hangzhou Asian Games, has demonstrated remarkable progress by consistently defeating teammates in internal matches. In the French Open Super 750 semifinals, she overcame He Bingjiao to secure a spot in the final against Tai Tzu Ying. Reflecting on her growth, Chen emphasized that internal matches were once a weakness but are no longer, crediting her renewed mindset for this change.

Following her silver medal at the Asian Games, Chen rebranded herself as ‘Chen Yufei 2.0’ and clinched the Denmark Open title, winning three matches against Chinese compatriots. At the French Open, she continued this trend by defeating Wang Zhiyi, Han Yue, and He Bingjiao en route to her fourth final this season, aiming for a third title. Chen shared on Instagram that her previous ‘1.0’ self struggled with internal matches, but now she actively confronts them to surpass her past limitations.

Last year, Chen finished as runner-up in Denmark and exited early in France, but this year she has reached both finals. The upcoming match against Tai Tzu Ying will determine her third season victory, highlighting her evolution as a player.
