Iris Wang (Iris Wang, born September 2, 1994) is an American-Chinese female badminton player. Her sister, Wang Minli, is also a national team representative and her doubles partner. After graduating from Arcadia High School, she entered the University of California, Los Angeles in 2012.
In 2011, Iris Wang represented the United States in the Pan American Games badminton competition, winning a silver medal in women’s doubles with Wang Minli.
In August 2016, Iris Wang participated in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games badminton women’s singles competition held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She defeated Belgian Tine Baun and Portuguese Telma Santos in the group stage but lost 0-2 to the defending champion Li Xuerui of China, not advancing to the knockout stage.
In August 2017, Iris Wang participated in the World Badminton Championships held in Glasgow, Scotland, competing in the women’s singles event. She was eliminated in the first round with a score of 0-2 (13-21, 18-21) against Canada’s Rachel Honderich.
