Ye Binghong: A Former Chinese Badminton Player

Ye Binghong was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He was once a men’s singles badminton player in China. His father is one of the earliest badminton enthusiasts in Xiaoshan. Influenced by his father, Ye Binghong entered Hangzhou Chenjinglun Sports School at the age of 6 and began to live on campus for professional training.

At the age of 17, he joined the Chinese national team. In the three years in the national team, Ye Binghong experienced three entries and three exits. He won the men’s team championship of the National Youth Badminton Championships for three consecutive years, the mixed team championship of the Asian Youth Badminton Championships, the mixed team championship of the World Youth Badminton Championships, and the team championship of the 2015 National Championships.


In 2017, the National Badminton Championships were held in Foshan. Ye Binghong finally won his first national men’s singles championship. Unfortunately, in the same year, his hand joint was seriously injured and two ligaments were broken, so he had to retire helplessly.


In 2018, Ye Binghong started his study life in the United States. Ye Binghong went to the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and other countries to study and inspect the sports industry, and then went to the United States to learn the operation mode of badminton clubs. In the United States, after retiring, he did not give up badminton. He still insisted on playing competitions and also won many badminton event championships.


In 2019, Ye Binghong returned to his hometown, Xiaoshan. Encouraged by Professor Chen, his tutor at Tongji University, Ye Binghong established Hangzhou Original Culture and Sports Co., Ltd.


In 2020, the Xiaoshan District badminton team was officially established, and Ye Binghong was hired as the head coach of the Xiaoshan District badminton team.
